My Biography

Sara Fuchs of Medford was crowned Miss Rodeo Wisconsin 2011 at the Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo Miss Rodeo Wisconsin pageant in June. Portions of the competition included a speech titled Why You Should Visit my Home Town of Medford, modeling, impromptu and media interviews, personality, personal interactions at the children’s library, golf outing, 5 K run, and horsemanship skills.
The 22 year old daughter of Daniel and Tracy Fuchs graduated from Medford Area Senior High School in 2006. She is currently attending the University of River Falls, and will graduate in May 2011, obtaining a Bachelors degree in Animal Science with an Equine emphasis. During her four years at River Falls, she served as treasurer of UWRF Horseman’s Association and IHSA, Interscholastic Horse Judging Association, selected to participate in judging Reining competition at the 2009 Futurity in Oklahoma City, Captain of the Western Stock Show Team, chaired dozens of horse shows, and traveled to Europe for a 3 week assignment in 2009 to assist Dr. Kris Hiney in instructing students for horsemanship, reining, and basic rodeo events.
As a proud Wisconsin cowgirl, Sara began riding at the age of 7. She grew up competing in local 4-H and Black River Rider events, moving to open horse shows, and intercollegiate competitions. These experiences gave Sara her passionate appreciation and love for the sport of rodeo.
Her hobbies include reining, gymkhana, camping with and without horses, canoeing, traveling, snowmobiling, darts, and one of her favorite sports, Rodeo!
Sara’s reign as Miss Rodeo Wisconsin will begin in 2011 when she will represent the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Badger State. Sara will spend a year traveling to various rodeos and western celebrations throughout the United States and Wisconsin. Her time in 2011 will be spent promoting and educating others about Wisconsin’s heritage and the sport of rodeo. In December, 2011 she will join the nation’s best cowboys and cowgirls in Las Vegas, Nevada for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, where she’ll proudly represent Wisconsin in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant with the opportunity to be crowned Miss Rodeo America 2012.
