Miss Rodeo America

WOW what a week! The Miss Rodeo America Pageant 2011 concluded on Saturday December 4, 2010. Congratulations on a job well done Amanda Breitenfeldt! I am very proud to be your successor and hope that my year will be as flourishing and fun as yours was! Congratulations also go out to South Dakota, the home to Miss Rodeo America 2011, McKenzie Haley!

On my flight home from Las Vegas, my mother and I were looking on the internet of possible leather dress colors. Our steward, Stephen had been watching us look at colored squares and replied “Don’t you have anything better to look at than paint chips?” I replied to him what we were trying to accomplish and he was fascinated with the whole Miss Rodeo lifestyle. He could not believe that we made dresses out of leather and found it rather difficult to visualize what a full size dress would look like having only a little square to see. We talked about how it would be easier to view the dresses if we could simply drag the color on a “computerized manikin” and see the dress on her. He is looking for a program and is going to let me know if he finds one.

After watching, learning, and documenting everything I could, I am ready to start my year promoting the Cowboys and Cowgirls competing in the sport that the Weekend Warrior’s dominate, RODEO!
